An additional day to Finlandia Trophy Espoo competition 

The international Finlandia Trophy Espoo competition weekend turned into a four-day one. The figure skating event will start according to the new schedule as early as Thursday, October 7th, 2021 and will continue over the weekend, ending on October 10th, 2021. The event will be held at Espoo Metro Arena. 

Finnish Figure Skating Association received this year a larger number of pre-registrations than usual. The federation wanted to give more athletes a chance to start their international competition season and decided to increase the event by day. 

– The Challenger competition just before the Finlandia Trophy was canceled in Slovakia. We believe this has contributed to the interest in our event. We came up with a solution in the interests of athletes. We wanted to give as many skaters as possible the opportunity to compete on the eve of the Olympic season, Outi Wuorenheimo, Secretary General of Finlandia Trophy Espoo, explained.  

The extra date will cause a change to a previously published schedule. New daily schedule:

Thursday 7.10. starting at 13

Special Olympics skaters
Pair skating, short program
Men, short program

Friday 8.10. starting at 13

Pair skating, free skating
Men, free skating

Saturday 9.10. starting at 13

Ice dance, rhythm dance
Ladies, short program
Synchronized skating, short program

Sunday 10.10. starting at 13

Ice dance, free dance
Ladies, free skating

Thursday ticket will go on sale on September 2nd, 2021 at 12 noon.

Instructions for those who have already purchased tickets for the event are as follows: 

  •  A customer who has purchased an All Event ticket, can attend all four days with the ticket already purchased at no extra charge. All Event customers will receive even more personal instructions closer to the event.
  •  If a customer who has previously purchased a day ticket wishes to exchange the Friday or Saturday ticket for another day, they can do so free of charge. Please check the service numbers
  •  If a customer who has previously purchased a Friday or Saturday day ticket wants his/her money back, one must contact latest on Septemper 10th. (Date added September 1st at 9.32)

We follow Covid-19 recommendations at the event to ensure the health safety of athletes, the public and others present. Currently, only a limited number of tickets are available for the event. The organizer reserves the right to make changes. 

 The 25th Finlandia Trophy is one of the competitions of the International Skating Union’s Challenger series. In addition to single skaters, ice dancers and pair skaters, synchronized skaters and special athletes from the Special Olympics series are invited.
